In addition to the Andrew Woolsey, there is the James Woolsey family in the 1850 Ulster Co NY census that I have not been able to connect to the mainstream family. To wit: 1850 federal census Ulster Co NY, Town of Esopus, p. 257, film M432, roll 608 house 133, family 135 (all were born in NY) James WOOLSEY 57 farmer (no real estate) can't r/w Bertha (?) 56 Richard 24 laborer, can't r/w Catherine A. 20 can't r/w Benjamin 17 farmer Mary 14 Jacob L. 11 Alexander 9 Norman 6 I believe James and Bertha are the ancestors of George L. Woolsey (b. 16 Nov 1858, poss. Duchess Co NY, d. 12 Sep 1916 Cornwall, Orange Co NY), the grandfather of my friend for whom I am doing the research, but I have been unable to prove that.
