"A skirmish between Carrol County [MO] Union Militia and a Confederate Militia of some sixty men led by Capt. Logan Balleau. Confederates ambushed the Union militia and 'in this skirmish Judge Toleston of Grundy Co [MO], was killed and a young man named Noah Woolsey, son of Stephen C.
