Thomas Woolsey's marriages from Summers' HISTORY OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. Genealogical Pub. Co., Baltimore, MD. 1966. various pages. I found the marriage of your ancestors, but no other Grosses. I found the following THOMAS marriages: p. 46. 5 Mar 1787 John Knox & Elizabeth Thomas p. 72. 23 Sep 1787 Lewis Thomas & Elizabeth Widner p. 66. 4 Sep 1788 Samuel Sprauls & Susanna Thomas Rev. Thomas Woolsey lived on the South Fork of the Holston River, in Washington Co., (now Symthe Co.), VA. at a place that still appears on the maps as Sinclair Bottoms, where there was a stone church, I believe a Primitive Baptist Church. Descendants moved to KY, IN, TN, IL, etc. Some moved to Greene County, TN. As I am "documenting" the whole family, I am interested in all WOOLSEYS anywhere. Thank you again. >Wilford W.
