THEODORE DWIGHT WOOLSEY 1801-1889 Theodore Dwight Woolsey was an educator and political scientist. He was a valedictorian at Yale University (1820), he attended Princeton Theological seminary until 1823, then completed his theological studies at Yale and Europe. He was professor of Greek at Yale (1831-1846), then became its president (1846-1871), during which time he taught history, political science, and iternational law. He was chairman of the America committee for the revision of the New Testament (1871 - 1881). Aside from editions of Greek classics, he also wrote an Introduction to the Study of International Law (1860) and Political Science (1878).
