    3. To Shirley Petty and interested Woolsey researchers: I received the following from Shirley Petty: Wilford, did you ever come up with anything on Nathaniel Woolsey of IL? You said you thought he might hold a key to the other Woolseys in IL and TN. Just wondering. He is my dead-end/brick-wall/toe-stumpper/mind-boggler................. Shirley Petty Hi, Shirley: Thank you for remembering. I was excited about doing more research on Nathaniel Woolsey, but when I got to that county in Illinois, (I don't have the name of it at hand right now.) I discovered I had already searched all the books in the SL Family History Library, with very little success. There were several microfilms on land transactions, etc. which I spent several hours searching, but found nothing of consequence except some land dealings of Thomas Woolsey, son of Nathaniel. I have concluded that Nathan Woolsey (with Thomas in the census records) is a son of Nathaniel Woolsey and an earlier wife. Very disappointing. I was hoping I would find more in cemetery records, etc, but didn't. I'm doing this from memory right now but I think you can get the idea. I didn't have much success there. Sincerely, Wilford W. Whitaker
