I believe these Hampshire Wolfords of the 1830s belong to the family of John-from-Maryland Wolford. My John's family, by 1830, was in Radolph/Tucker county, WV. And Martin was in Indiana/Illinois at that time. I'm not sure where the Jay County Wolford fits in. Not my direct line...but it may be a cousin or nephew...or not a relation at all. Basically, my John served part time in NJ militia during the Rev war. Shortly afterwards, he moved to Hampshire county for 19 years, (which consisted of many current day counties back then) until 1800s when he bought land in Randolph County...which branched off to Tucker County. The "other" John Wolford's family stayed in Hampshire. Mine, however, did not return to Hampshire. Have a good weekend, Diane
