This is the land deed of my g-g-g-grandfather Frederick WOOLFORD who was shot and killed 8 Aug 1863 defending this property and the county store he had on it from bushwackers connected to the Civil War. His wife Louisa ALLEN and children William Daniel & Elizabeth Perlina WOOLFORD hid and survived the attack, and then removed to Oregon Co., Missouri where Louisa's three brother's were, and it was safer for her and the children.
