His great grandmother was Minnie Sharples. Minnie did not immigrate to NZ with the rest of the family but her son, Clifford Sharples, immigrated with his grandmother Sarah Sharples. We believe Clifford's fathers name was Frank Reilly but this was not recorded on his birth certificate. Minnie is believed to have married Frank Alderson but we cannot find any record of this marriage. Sarah sharples was married to Thomsa Sharples who had passed away before the family immigrated in 1920s.
