I am told that when he and my Grandmother were married, that the name Woolford was misspelled on the marriage license, and they decided to keep it that. The marriage took place in 1928 or 1929. I was told his Mother was full blooded Cherokee. He was a devout Christian man, and grew up ashamed of his family, so never spoke of them. I believe his Mother's name was Mary, but not sure.
