Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me. I am trying to trace the descendants of Robert Woolford, born 1803 Purton Wiltshire, who was transported to Tasmania and passed in 1875. My grandmother was Nancy Lillian Woolford of Chippenham Wiltshire, born 1920-2015 and during my nans funeral a family member told me about Robert Woolford. I am now very interested in finding out the connection from Robert Woolford to my nan. So far I have learnt that Robert Woolford had 7 children with Elizabeth Clifford and then he was transported to Tasmania where he married Eliza Hogan (Eliza Woolford) and had more children with Eliza. I am not sure of my nans parents names (or their parents) and I am trying to find out which child of Robert Woolford descends down to my Nan. This story of Robert Woolford interests me as in 2014 I emigrated to New Zealand and it would be interesting to find out about Robert Woolford and Eliza Woolfords descendants and whether they live in Australia or New Zealand. His great grandmother was Minnie Sharples. Minnie did not immigrate to NZ with the rest of the family but her son, Clifford Sharples, immigrated with his grandmother Sarah Sharples. Minnie is believed to have married Frank Alderson but we cannot find any record of this marriage. I was told his Mother was full blooded Cherokee. He was a devout Christian man, and grew up ashamed of his family, so never spoke of them. I believe his Mother's name was Mary, but not sure. Lavinia died 12/1/1948 in Lamellion House, but is not buried in Liskeard, so where was she buried I was hoping some of her decendants might know, likewise her husband William James is his the death at Newton Abbot in 1938 cause that seems off their travelled track from Looe, to Menheniot, (William James was gardiner at Coldrenick House) to Liskeard/Lamellion.
