    1. [WOODS-L] Elizabeth Woods
    2. Don Gilbert
    3. I've been reading this Wood's list since last summer in hopes that SOMEONE would lead me to this lady's family. So far, there've been no Woods in Texas. This is what we know: Elizabeth Cordelia Wood(s) born June 1864 in Texas. What county, we don't know. On the 1900 census, she states her father was born in Tennessee and her mother was born in Missouri. She further states that she is the mother of six children, five living. We know that she married Allen Bailey Gilbert August 10, 1884 in Palo Pinto County, Palo Pinto, Texas. We know she had our Aunt Maude in 1886, so she had either a miscarriage prior to that, or she was married prior to that and lost that first husband and first baby. (All kinds of scenerios go thru your head when you're really reaching!) That could be since she was 20 when she married Mr. Gilbert.....kinda late for that time frame. Anyway, she first shows up on our tree in the 1900 census and the 1910 census lists Allen as a widower. Elizabeth's last baby was born January 6, 1902. That is all we know. She seems not to exist before August 10, 1884 and disappeared after 1902. She is not buried in the Palo Pinto CM with t! he rest of the family. We have no other Woods names....no parents, no siblings. We are at a really big brick wall! The Gilberts' lived in Palo Pinto from 1865 until about 1912, when Allen left for Oklahoma. Somewhere Elizabeth came and went.........she's really a feather in the wind for us. Has anyone come across this lady? If not, please keep us in mind should you ever find one you can't quite place. We appreicate it! Don & Danna Gilbert ddgilbert@htcomp.net
