My grandfathers name was Clarence Woods (with an s) while we were all brought up as Wood. I know very little about my fathers family...only that my grandfather is Clarence, born 1907 (not sure where). His father Clayton, (which may or may not have been his name) lived for some time in Minden, Nebraska. Clarence and his sister, Rowena, grew up in Iowa....I think around the Algona area. He and my grandmother (Mildred Nelson) had one son, my father, Charles Clayton Wood. Then they divorced and Clarence moved to southern California, remarried, and had 2 daughters. Only other things I know about this line of my family (grapevine), we may have Native American ancestors, may be distantly related to Buffalo Bill Cody...and may have someone back there who was hanged. I would love to find out more. Can anyone help?
