    1. [WOODS-L] WOOD and WOODS split up, a new list is formed.

    3. Hi all, As you can tell from the "subject" we have a new list. The following message I received earlier this evening which details the reasons for the split. I am very enthusiastic about Mike's new WOOD (NO 'S') list. This is great for all of us, WOOD and WOODS alike. It will mean that each list will be able to focus more on their respective research. Great going Mike and good luck to you and to all you WOOD members who move to the new list. It's been fun and I hope you get past your 'brick walls'. Happy hunting. It's been almost 5 years that the WOODS list has included the WOOD members, I'll miss you all. Just a little plug here which I don't generally do. Please all of you take the time to visit the rootsweb home page and if you can afford it to send a donation to keep our lists free, and to support our hosts. Just a note to those on the WOODS list who are not of the WOOD or WOODS lines, you must make up your own mind which list too be a member of. Neither Mike nor I will ask you to leave; it's your choice. A little help with those who want to move. To unsubscribe from the WOODS list you must send a message to: woods-l-request@rootsweb.com with only the word unsubscribe in the body, the subject is ignored. For DIGEST members you use the woods-d-request@rootsweb.com address. To subscribe to the WOOD list you must send a message to: wood-l-request@rootsweb.com with only the word subscribe in the body, the subject is ignored. To subscribe in DIGEST mode use the address wood-d-request@rootsweb.com All messages to be posted to the WOOD list must be addressed to: wood-l@rootsweb.com Again, good luck to all of you WOOD members, Chris >From: "Mike" <mwood@foto.infi.net> >To: "Chris Lamesfield" <cjl@tir.com> >Subject: WOOD-L and WOOD-D > >Chris, > >Due to the volumn of correspondence received on WOODS-L, >and in order to bring you better service in your genealogy >research, a WOOD-L list has been created.... this division >of the names WOOD and WOODS should provide greater >clarity in some of the searches and in the posting of information. > >In the past the creation of WOODS-L served all of our subscribers >regardless of the variations in the name, but the number of people >subscribing and the volumn as I stated earlier has made this move >feasible at this time in order to bring you better service. > >For those of you desiring to subscribe to the WOOD-L list there is >no automatic remove from WOODS-L, you must unsubscribe >yourself and subscribe to WOOD-L if you wish to receive information >regarding only the name WOOD (with no S). > >Mike
