Mathew Wood b 1/1/1812 d 2/18/1889 was my gggrandfather. He came to Ohio in the 1830's as a missionary. He married Mary Ann Scott (1820-1858) who was sent over from Scotland to be his wife. He married Janet Small on the death of Mary. Mathew and Mary had the following children: William W (6/25/1838-1/28/1917 John Scott (5/24/1841 - died in infancy) Joseph Wallace (2/15/1843-5/31/1865 died in Civil War) Mary (2/9/1845-3/13/1924) married James Lusk Mathew (3/31/1847-1912) married Sarah McCoy Jeannette (10/25/1849-9/26/1926) married William Graham Margaret Ann (10/31/1850-1942) married Charles Hamilton George (5/18/1854-9/2/1928) married Mississippi Powers (my ggrandparents) John Scoot (11/8/1857-3/13/1933) married Irene Reed - married Lunneta Gowdy Mathew's father was also Mathew Wood, Dumfreeshire Scotland. He married Mary Ann Wallace and they had the following children: Brice Mathew (1/1/18112-2/18/1889) my gggrandfather Joseph George Mary M Anna M all the children were born in Scotland.
