This was found in an old book on Jasper Co., Mo. George M. Wood Blacksmith by trade, born in Montgomery Co., Ky., Oct l3, l845 Parents - William and Lucretia Wood natives of Ky. Moved to Sangamon Coi., Ill when nine years old. and 3 years later came to Mo. locating in Jasper Co. on Spring River April l863 crossed the plains to Calif. and ingaged in farming near Chico until Oct l870. Returned to Mo. and stayed two years in Lafayette Co. after wich he came to Sarcoxie Township, Jasper Co. Married in Jasper Co. Feb 9, l863 to Alice, dau. of Richard and Mary Burgess of this county. They had four children: William A. born Nov 29., l873 Charles E. born Aug 24, l876 died Apr 7, l877 John L born Mrach 27, l878, died Nov. 7, l878 George Leo born July l2, l880 Couple are members of the M.E.
