(maiden name unknown other than initial "S" on tombstone), b. about 1811 in SC, d. about 1861 in Fulton Co., GA Children: 1. William Woods, b. about 1830, m. (1st) Sarah (?), (2nd) Rebecca Williams 2. Nancy Carlisle Woods, b. about 1832, d. 2/14/1906 in Fulton Co., GA, m. Joseph Grisham Brown 3. Elizabeth A. Woods, b. about 1834, d. 6/1/1916, m. Joseph Willis Jones 4. Carrie Cordelia Woods, b. about 1836, m. Thomas Angus Morris 5. Mary Jane Woods, b. about 1838, m. Martin Manley, no other info 6. Susan Parks Woods, b. about 1838, d. 2/19/1906, m. John W. Sparks 7. Thomas Jefferson Woods, b. about 1842, m. Savannah Franklin, no other info 8. James Woods, b. about 1843, m. Mary Alice Kennedy, moved to Birmingham, AL, no other info 9. Francis Alexander Woods, b. 1848, d. 7/14/1912, m. Carrie Belle Hunt, daughter of William Henry Hunt. If you think you may have some information regarding any of these individuals, please write and I'll try to provide further details. I suspect that this SAMUEL WOOD, who raised this family in Newton County, Georgia before they all moved to Fulton County to obtain work on the railroad there around 1850, could be a descendant of one of the several SAMUEL WOODs of North Carolina, but seven years of searching have failed to turn up a reliable lead on his parents.
