I am searching for any information on Tomptom and Matilda (Spicer) Wood in the Wilkes County NC. area. This couple raised four children or more in the Trap Hill area. William H. Wood, one of these children married a Higgins from that area. This was his first wife. I think that this couple had a family of two before the mother died. One of these, Frank (?) drowned in the Roaring River near his home. (Swep from a foot bridge during flood conditions.) The other son Tomas Avery Wood grew up in the same area. He Lost an arm in an accident while feeding cain into the machine. he was seven years old at the time. He grew up amd married a Higgins also. Probably a distant relative of his mother's. Tomas moved his wife and four children either to Colorado or Wyoming around 1896. He worked on various work projects such as the roads in Yellowstone National Park. Tomas and his wife were divorced prior to 1916 because Tomas has moved back to WV. and married a second time. During and prior to this, his father had moved to WV. and remarried a second time. Can any one help me with all the blanks? Is there any connections in the North Carolins area? Is this any of your WOOD family? Thanks for any help. Darrell
