Families John Woods, son of William Woods and Susannah Wallace, married Abigail Estell who was born Nov 22, l762 in Va. (Thomas, John Wallace) William Woods born Castle Dunshanglin in Ireland l705., migrated to America with his father Michael Woods, who secured grants for more than l300 acres of land in what then was Goochland Co., Va. from King George II of England in l737, later known as Michael Woods of Blair Park, the name of his estate. John Woods , soldier in Indian Wars of Colonial times and in the Rev. War., moved from Va. to Ky, some time before l784, moved to Franklin Co., Tenn, near the town of Salem, in about l808; and died there in l8l5. Will recorded in Franklin Co., Tenn. Served in Rev. War, migrated to Blunt Co. Tenn in l790 with wife and children. In l807 went to Knox Co., Ind and in l809 to Gibson Co., Ind. Children were born in Abermarle, Va. and Blunt Co., Tenn. Eleven children of this marriage.
