    1. [WOODS-L] Citizen, William and James Woods (Benton-Carroll COs TN) 1840-1865
    2. Brett Woods
    3. I'm continuing to narrow down the players in the Citizen Woods family of Benton and Carroll Counties TN. This is the family as I understand it: Citizen Stovall Woods (b. VA 1797 - d. Carroll County TN 8 Dec 1850) m. Jane M. Hale (b. VA 1800) 1. William Henry Woods 2. Peter Hairston Woods m. Jennie Haines 3. Sarah Anne Woods m. Peebles 4. Elizabeth Hairston Woods William Henry Woods (b. VA 1822 - d. TN 30 Sep 1855) m. Martha E. Hogan (b. TN 30 Aug 1827 - d. Aug 1890) 1. James M. Woods (b. 1847) 2. Wiley H. Woods (b. 1846) 3. Mary E. Woods (b. 1845) 4. Susan Y. Woods 5. Thomas J. Woods After William Henry Woods' death, his sons Wiley and James lived with their grandfather Citizen Stovall Woods. There are some online entries that both James M. Woods and Wiley H. Woods (plus a number of other Woods cousins) served in the 7th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.) and may have been taken prisoner and held at Andersonville. Does anyone know anything about their military service? I am particularly interested in any information -- particularly collateral material -- on Citizen, William Henry and James M. Woods, and would appreciate any comments, additions, suggestions or corrections. Thanks for any help. Brett F. Woods Santa Fe, New Mexico
