Finally made it to James, this is the last of the four brothers (Michael, William and Andrew being the others) who emigrated from Ireland with their sister Elizabeth Woods Wallace. James parents were John Woods and Elizabeth Worsop or Elizabeth Woods or Elizabeth Adams depending upon the source documents. (Hopefully this festering issue will finally be resolved after the research project is finished) In any event, does anyone, and know anything about James? I have found one reference that his wife was named Mary, but no last name was provided. There is also information that James was the father of a Robert Woods, born 1719 in Ireland, and died in 1811 in Franklin County VA. Robert married Elizabeth Middleton (b 1725) in Lunenburg County VA in 1752. Her parents were John Middleton and Margaret Ainsworth. Some questions. Is James the father of Robert and, if not, who might Robert's father be? Does anyone know where James lived or what he did for a living? Did James have any other children? Finally, what was the last name of James' wife Mary, presuming her name was indeed Mary. James is really a black hole.
