Anybody care to take a shot at this one? According to LDS, Henry's parents were a James and Lavina Woods who were married in Surry County. James was probably born in Surry County in the early 1800s. As you probably know, Surry was part of Rowan County and lies on the Virginia Line, south of, I believe, Patrick County VA. After checking the online Surry County census indexes, I can find only two Woodses: a Lazarus in 1830, and a Michael in 1840. Any ideas as to which Woods line this James' family is descended? Thanks.
