John Woods married Eliza Young July l8, l8l8 "celebated by me" James Turk Will of John Woods I , John Wiods being reducded in body and appropensive of approaching death but being swound and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows ( viz) First of all I desire that my just debts be paid by collecting debts that are due me and selling such property as can best be spared from the estate and Second I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Eliza all my personal property whatever o be her own absolutely to dispose of as she may think proper with conditions that she pay one hundred dollars to the Bible Society for the purpose of sending the Gospel to the Heathen Nations and that she gives fifty dollars to the free school in Blount County this fifty dollars she may apply to the benefit of such youths as she may think proper of poor families and farther she is to have possession use and all the profits of all my landed property during her natural life and at the decease I allow all mu landed property to descend to the legitmate heirs of my four brothers (viz) William, Samuel and David, Thomas Woods and equal part to each family and I farther hereby release and exhenerate Dave Mc Candless from all debts and demands that I may have against him with conditions that he pails in my grave together with the grave of my deceased wife and lastly I appoint my beloved wife Eliza and Col. William Wallace, my executrix and executor of this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of July l830.
