I have a Charles Wood or Woods of USA, surgeon, born about 1750, who moved to the West Indies--St. Croix, Virgin Islands (British and Danish during that time) about 1781. He married a Sarah and had four children, among the Matilda Ann Wood, 1789, Edward Wood, 1797 and William Henry Wood, 1801. Charles died in St. Croix 30 Oct. 1810, age 60. Anyone have any clues where he might have been from? It is interesting the records say "born in USA" as he would have been born before there were a USA! Thanks in advance for any help.
