Woods Rites Held Here Sept 4. Doctor Owen Shelby Woods, son of the late William and Elizabeh Brown Woods was born at Fulton, KY on February 27, 1870. and died at his home at Salem, AR on September 2, 1960 at the age of 90 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was married to Cornelia J. Foust in Izard County, AR on december 24, 1981 and to this union nine chldren were born. He was preceded in death by his companion on January 31, 1930 and by two of his children. He was united Marriage to Mary {Sherrill] Staggs at Salem, AR on April 1939; she also preceeded him in death on July 19. 1960. Survivors include four sons: Tom Woods of Dyess, AR, Hobert Woods of Branswick, MO; Brown Woods of St. Louis, MO and Woodwow Woods of Marshall. AR. Three daughters, Mrs. Anna Bell Dupee of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Ruby Alexaner of Wichata, Kansas, and Mrs. Thelma Sherrill of Batesville, AR, 27 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Dr. Woods had been a practricing physician in Fulton Countyu for more than 60 years. He was a member of the America Medical Association. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for some ten years. Funeral services were hold on Sunday, September 4th at 2:00 p.. at the Salem Church of Christ with Elder Boyd Morgan of Mammoth Sp[ring, AR and Elder Robby Blue of Salem, AR.
