Benjamin Moses Woods came to Texas from Williamson County, Tennessee. Texas census records show that he was born in 1827 or 1828 in Tennessee. His mother was from North Carolina and his father was born in Tennessee. Benjamin married Milly Ann Coleman on Sept. 12, 1853 in Panola County, Texas (verified). He died in 1901 and is buried in Pipe Creek, Texas (I found his grave). He was my maternal great-great-grandfather. I need help with a link to Benjamin's father/mother's names. Benjamin should be on a Tennessee census of Williamson County, Tennessee in 1830 or 1840. Can anyone tell me when Tennessee started taking a census and how to locate that information.
