Does anyone have the abstract of this Joseph Woods' will? I understand it is in (Orange County NC) Will Book G-26, dated 28 Sep 1850 and proved in the May Court 1852. This is what I have developed on Joseph and feel free to make any comments or corrections: Joseph Woods (son of Hugh Woods and Mary Dunnegan). Born Orange County NC 26 June 1750; died 12 September 1852. Buried in the Little River Cemetery, Orange County, NC. Married Anna Unknown, born 24 February 1771, died 24 October 1846, and also buried in the Little River Cemetery. [I would like any information on Anna -- like her last name and where and when they were married -- if available]. Children: Hugh m Eliza Jane Ray in Orange County 20 January 1826 (William Dunagan bondsman) James m Polly Brown in Orange County 15 May 1818 (Hugh Woods bondsman) John m Sally McKee in Orange County 19 Sep 1833 (Eli Woods bondsman) Eli m Margaret Brown in Orange County 8 May 1819 (William Brown bondsman) Mary m (1) William H. Hall; (2) UNK Rhea Elizabeth m John R. Hall William Other Information: Joseph is mentioned in the will of Hugh Woods (Orange County Will Book D-1) dated 18 Jan 1794, proved May 1800. Wife: Mary. Sons: Joseph, Elihu and John. Daughters: Susanna (wife of James Faucette and noted to be a grandmother); Sarah; Elizabeth; and Mary Ann. Granddaughter: Milly, daughter of George Riggs and wife Rebecca (Rebecca must have been of of Hugh's daughters who was already deceased); Grandson: Hugh, son of George Woods and wife Rebecca. Witnesses: David Turrentine, James Grimes, and Hugh Montgomery. It is my understanding that Hugh's son John married Mary Cain; and his son Elihugh married Elinor Faucett. Thanks again for any comments and note my new e-mail address. Brett F. Woods Santa Fe, New Mexico
