I have just recently added data on the BOTTS & MERRITT connection, if anyone is interested. Still seeking Joshua`s parents as we can`t get past "he was in Baltimore Co, MD by 1692", married (1) Mary____ by 1693, had Joshua & Isaac; m. (2) Elizabeth PITTOCK Dec 15, 1704 and had Sarah and that is where the John BOTTS comes into the picture, as John m. Sarah WOOD in 1730. I have speculated for quite some time that my Wood family came from somewhere other than GA...I was about to delete your message when I noticed that Merritt came into play. The WOOD and MERRITT families are entrenched in GA and some have crossed.. I think.. Let me dig around and post some inform. I just got back from Ga and relisted after a considerable absence. Diana

I'm very interested in this ... I'm searching for a Merrit Wood, b. 1794 VA (Buckingham Co ?), was in GA by 1820's. Please let me know if this might be connected.
