After close scrutiny.. I'm forced to broaden my search criteria. I'm now looking for a Woods girl Kentucky born around 1820. Her given name was Martha Elizabeth and she married a James Roles in Barry Co. Mo. 1838. If any of you out there have a Woods girl that could possibly be Martha I'd sure be beholdin to you for the information. I'm just clueless as to where to look next. Thanks in advance for any information and your time. Rick Roles
Rick, I don't have all of the info in on my computer right now, but I have a Martha Woods b. Jan. 10, 1826 (probably in Mercer County, KY) -- dau. of Archibald Woods b. 1801 and Martha (nee Huffman) Hill b. 1792. I do remember that some of this Woods family moved to MO, but I am not sure exactly where. My direct line came to Indiana. Trish Melton, IN Apollo wrote: > After close scrutiny.. Rick, Sorry, I forgot to mention that the Martha I told you about probably was too young to be your Martha. The marriage info you gave would have put this Martha at about 12 years old. Martha's father Archibald Woods also had a sister Martha, but I don't have a DOB. Since I have at least 2 Martha Woods in this family, I just thought it might be worth looking into since many families repeat given names.
