Robert and Elizabeth Woods are listed on both the 1850 and 1860 Federal Cenuses of Coosa County Alabama, On the 1850 census Robert Woods is listed as being 67 years old while Elizabeth was listed as being 62. Robert's birthplace was listed as South Carolina while Elizabeth was born in Georgia. The 1860 Census was bviously not as thorough as they were both listed as being 70 years old and both born in Georgia. The children that were listed on the 1850 census were Jane age 40, Elizabeth 35, Mary 23,and John W 21. All of these children were born in Georgia and I doubt this was all of them as there was a gap of 12 years between two children.This would have been a rarity in that day and time. Since the Indian lands didnt open up until after the 1830's it would be safe to assume this Woods Family lived somewhere in Eastern Georgia.There oldest child according to the census would have born around 1810. Does anyone recognize this family? What about the Woods Families of Madison County Georgia? I would like to hear from any Woods Family researcher who had a "Robert" Woods as head of the household and living in Georgia between the years 1810 and 1849. The truth is out there! Russell
