Was someone looking for Valentine Wood recently? I ran across a reference to him in the History of Albemarle. That is Albemarle County, Virginia. He was the son of Henry Wood(s) the first Clerk of Goochland. In 1734 and 1739 he was granted twenty-six hundred fifty 2650 acres on Buck Island, etc. His son Valentine became a resident of Albemarle and was appointed one of its magistrates in 1746. He returned to Goochland when his father died in 1757 and succeeded him in the Clerk's Office. After Valentine's death his family once again moved to Albemarle. Dorothy
