Good Evening, I am searching for my gg grandfather William WOODS. Family "lore" states that William was born in Gallatin, Sumner, Tennessee. Unverified information states that William could have been the son of Jno (John) Wood who filed a will October 24, 1834. The will lists wife: Jane Woods; children: Charles, Robert, Sarah, William, James F., and John. It is reported that William ran away from home when he was sixteen and never returned. William b: 18 Dec 1830 d: 9 Sep 1902 and md: Elizabeth ESTEP 4 Nov 1855 in Popular Bluff, Butler, Missouri. Children: Tempia Ellen b: 1856 MO (my great grandmother); Eli C. b: Abt 1858 AR; David Christopher b: 1861 AR; Tennessee b: 1868 MO; Sara Jane b: 1873 MO; John E. b: Abt 1880 MO. The above information was given to me by my grandmother Bertha Jane McKinley LANE. I also have a brief compiled family history "The Wood(s) Family" compiled by David CUNNINGHAM.
