I have a suggestion for a new type of roll call that I have seen on one of my other mailing lists. They call it, "These Folks Ain't Mine!" The idea is that we all have research notes we have taken while looking for our own ancestors. Many times we take note of other people with the same name or surname in hopes that somehow they will connect with our own families. When we don't make the connection, we tuck away those notes and save them. This is your chance to get out those notes and see if they help someone else. I have got the permission of our list manager to begin this new roll call. It is important that we follow the subject line guidelines. In many cases we will have large lists of people to post. If you have just one name to post please list the name, location, and date in the subject line. If you have a large group of people to list, please try to list surname, location/locations, and at least try to list an approximate time period. Maybe you will help someone else, and maybe someone will help you. Lets get started!
