Hello All. I am new on your list and of course, madly hoping that some connection to my Woods family is just waiting on your list for me to post. So here is a brief rundown of what I know. James WOODS was born (somewhere) in Ireland c1817 as was his wife Jane SULLIVAN bet. 1818-1820 They had four children, all born in Ireland as well: Patrick bet.1842-47 m. Elizabeth DEERAN & Margaret --- Catharine 1846 m. Thomas MARTIN Margaret 1847 m. John MILLIFF Bridget 1848 m. Michael CUMMINGS James emigrated around 1846; the family followed in 1849, along with Jane's sister, Catherine SULLIVAN They landed in NY and by 1856 had arrived in Cleveland OH. James was a tailor. I am trying to trace Patrick's family. Sometime after 1880, they moved to Chicago, where Pat died in 1890. He was returned to Cleveland where he was buried with his first wife & child. His second wife, Margaret, & 2 daughters, Mary & Jane, remained in Chicago un til at least 1894. They do not appear in the Chicago Directory after that. It is possible that Mary was the same Mary A. WOODS who married a James N. HEWITT in Chicago. I hope someone out there has a clue, because they go up in smoke at that point. Hoping for help in Ohio. Judith Campbell
