    1. [WOODS-L] Robert Woods of Abbeville County South Carolina.
    2. I have posted quite a few times on this but I figure what the heck! Try again. I have been searching for information on Robert Woods b 1783. To be more specific ,I was wondering if this Robert Woods was the son of William Woods b 1744 -1804 and Sussanah Catherine McKinley who probated her will in 1829. Robert along with his brothers and sisters were listed as heirs. His brothers were;James,William, Andrew, and John. His sisters were,Martha Bell Drinkwater,Sussanah C.M Smith and Isabella G Harden. According to the 1850 Coosa County Alabama Census, Robert and Elizabeth Woods had the follwing children;Jane age 40 b Georgia,Elizabeth age 35 b Georgia, Mary age 23 b Georgia and John Wesley age 21 b Georgia. I dont have any idea if this was all his children or not but they were all born in Georgia. The 1860 Coosa County Census gives Robert's and Elizabeth's ages as 70. Probably a lazy census taker that didnt get it right. Anyways my question to the forum is this! Is this Robert Woods the same son of William and Sussanah C Mckinley Woods? Would anyone out there recognize this family anyway? I wont give up but Ive been trying to make a connection for over 3 years. Some out there has to recognize this family as relatives or descendants! It has been suggested that Robert married Elizabeth somewhere in Georgia before the Indian Lands opened up. At least his oldest daughter would have been born around 1810. There were several Woods lines during this time but I have not been able to prove or disprove of Robert's relationship to the Abbeville Woods. I have the 1829 probated estate but it doesnt give me any needed clues. Please Help or advise! Russell
