VT wife Caroline,b. 1815 VT Alexander WOOD in 1860 census, Worcester, MA Looking for any descendents Kenneth WOOD >> Hi... one of my ancestors from VT was a WOODS. I have no idea who her parents were, etc. Am very eager to discover such. This is all I know of her: Polly WOODS married Lewis Baxter, probably in Glover, VT area. She was 43 years old (born c1807?) in the 1850 census and living in Glover, VT, Orleans County. Her husband was 41 years old (b. c. 1808?) at the time and they had two children listed: Stephen (12 years old) and Josephine (7 years old). Josephine married Henry H. Paine at Glover, VT in Aug. 29, 1864 and her mother, Polly (WOODS) Baxter was listed as having been born in Glover, VT. Josephine (Baxter) & Henry H. Paine moved to Jericho and Underhill, VT area soon after their marriage. They are buried in Underhill, VT and their grave stone also conveys the names and death dates of Polly's parents: Lewis Baxter d. 1891 and Polly (WOODS) Baxter d. 1876. It is probable that they too moved to Underhill, VT and died there. If you ever come across anything more informative about Polly's WOODS ancestry please let me know!! THANKS! Cheers, John C.
