    3. Hi Debbie, Anything is possible I believe. I do not know much about my Thomas Wood(s). He was the only known brother of my great grandmother, Amanda Charlotte Wood. She was born 1861-7 and I just figure he was somewhere around her age, but I don't know. She told her kids she was born Dent Co., MO, but her one son's death paper says, Dent County, AR and other census so AR., MO or KY. So all we know is Amanda and Tom were supposed to be living with an aunt in Izard County, AR at least by 1881. Amanda would have been from 14 to 19, depending; and we don't know how old Tom was. However, in 1881 Dr. Walter Wickliffe Rivers supposedly hung up his MD shingle in Calico Rock, AR. Tom Wood(s) was taken with pneumonia and the doctor was called. We do not know what happened to Tom, but his sister and my great grandmother, Amanda Charlotte Wood, became involved with Dr. Rivers and gave birth to my grandfather, Robert Walter Wardman Rivers in Calico Rock in April 1882. The doctor supposedly married Amanda (can't find it) but Amanda said his horse came back alone to the house when whe was quite "with child." Amanda said she never saw Rivers again and heard the next day he was riding with the James Gang as their doctor and was killed, or the Gang killed him or some such story. History notes my grandfather was born the month and year Jesse James was killed -- so that is no doubt where Amanda got that story. (And it probably was BIG NEWS!) Then in only 1884 or 5 she gave birth to a second son, Alfred Shelby Harwell, in Calico Rock. She would have been abut 16 if family history is correct, or as old as 24. Father, "G.H. Harwell (from Alfred's death papers). No one ever saw him that I know of except Amanda. Does anything ring a bell with anyone, I hope? Thanks.
