Hello to all, I am new to the list and wanted to post my info. I've been chiseling away a this line for awhile and it's slooowww going. :) Hope someone out there can help me out. :) I have two guys that I feel are brothers: William Reed C. WOODS b.abt 1824 or 1828 VA married Nancy M. JARMAN Mar 14 1844 in Brown County OH. They have atleast two children Margaret "Mollie" WOODS b. abt 1849 OH James H. WOODS b.abt 1851 OH I can place them in Brown County OH with the 1850 census. I can place them in Fremont County IO in 1870 via the census. IO land records show that they were in Galesburg, Knox County IO just prior to their move to IO. Living adjacent to William WOODS in 1870 IO is James Harrison WOODS b.abt 1830 VA. He may have had a family prior to his marriage to Agnes Priscilla HASTINGS due to the difference in ages. The story is that he and his brothers were in TX looking for horses when they stopped at Agnes Priscilla's farm. He coresponded with her and came back and married her May 5, 1866. They went back North. James Harrison WOOD died about 1885/86 in Dennison TX while the family was on their way to OK. Agnes Priscilla HASTINGS was b.1845 in IN d. 1919 in OK. Their children were: Mattie WOODS b.1867 John Franklin WOODS b.1869 Mary "Mollie" WOODS b.1873 Oscar Reed WOODS b. 1875 Eliza Jane WOODS b. 1879 Minnie Lou WOODS b. 1886 There may have been other children as some were reported to have died 'on the road'. Land records in IO indicate that John F. WOODS (wife Sarah) and William WOODS bought land in IO and each sold an equal portion to James Harrison WOODS. Don't know if John is another brother or father. I feel that William Reed C. WOODS' son James H. is probably named after James Harrison. Also James Harrison WOODS' son John Franklin WOOD is probably named after John F. WOODS. I have seen some LDS records placing other WOODS in the Galesburg IL to Fremont County IO area. These WOODS start in NY then to OH then IL then IO and on. I can't 'connect' them to my guys. I know that this was a long post. THanks for your time and patience and I look forward to hearing suggestions. Thank you
