I found the following message during a search and tried to email Daniela but the mail was returned. I am very intereseted in the Wood(s) family of Bedford Virginia. If anyone has a new address for her...please let me know. According to what I've seen, Winifred was the daughter of John Wood and niece of Thomas. Winifred's father was Thomas Woods, born in 1708 in what is now Bedford Co. but back then it was Lunenburg Co. So, I am still very interested in the Woods of Bedford and Lunenburg Counties in Virginia. In 1774, Winifred Woods married Walter Neal, Sr. also of Bedford Co. VA. Walter's father, Daniel Neale was born in Charles Co., Maryland. The Neales go way back to 1642 in Charles Co., when James Neale was given land there. When researching and linking all my Charles Co., MD ancestors together, I discovered a new one, Grace Wood. Grace Wood, who was born in 1612, in England, was the wife of William Smute or Smoot, a boatwright who was born in 1596 in Scotland. William came to America sometime in the mid-1630s or 40s landing in Virginia. Together William Smoot and Grace Wood had nine children: Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth, Anne, Alice, Grace, Edward, Charles, and William Smoot. In 1646 he moved to Maryland. His wife, Grace, died in January 1666. I know nothing about Grace Wood's ancestory. Do any of you Wood researchers have any information on her family? Sincerely, Daniela
