Wheel and Cards: My mother used to have what she called a set of Cards, two wooden paddle shaped boards with nails sticking out like brush bristles. These were used to brush or card the wool or cotton and stretch the fibers so that they could be spun on the spinning wheel in order to spin thread and thereby make cloth. Thelma W.
