Woods b: Abt 1880 Swan Township, Taney, MO Family Compiled History passed down to me which was compiled by David Cunningham indicates (assumption as well) parents of William Woods were John Wood and Jane. His information taken from a will dated 24 Oct 1834 and probated in Gallatin, Sumner, TN in 1836. Children listed in will: Charles Robert William Sarah James F. John Family fokelore states William ran away from home at age 16 and never returned. William Woods was known affectionately as "Uncle Billy" by his neighbors in Taneyville, Taney, County. Char, I'm still interested in the McKinley surname as it seems to me that my own grandmother Bertha Jane McKinley Lane must have gotten her name from the McKinley's in some way.
