Hi Brenda - Do you have any location information for your E.A. Woods?
Hi list, I am looking for information on my ggrandmother. She was Missouri Leona Woods. She had a brother E.A. Woods. She was born 4-8-1886 and died 9-6-1957. She was married three times. Once to Joseph Quitman Hill in 1902, Then to James Allen Forrest Hill in 1910, and then married John Jefcoats 1-2-1927. Both of her first husbands died. Does anyone have information. I would ever be so grateful. Thank you and God Bless, Brenda Odom Lewis
Just checking to see if I am still on the list. I have not received any info from the list in a long time. Thanks Brenda Odom Lewis
I realize that this is doubtless a shot in the dark, but does anyone have any information on the descendants of William Woods (b ABT 1725) who was the son of William Woods (b IRE ABT 1695) of North Carolina. The 1695 William was the brother of Michael Woods of Blair Park and eventually settled on the Hycotee River in what is now Orange County NC. His son, the 1725 William, as the story goes, left the Hycotee River homestead very early on and moved to the the area that eventually became Jonesborough (current Washington County) TN. Of course, since Jonesborough didn't become a town until 1779 or so, I'm not sure what it was called then. One possible clue is that William's sister Mary supposedly accompanied him there, and she was married to a man named Strain. Thanks. Brett F. Woods Santa Fe, New Mexico

WE may have a connection????? I am looking for OLIF or OLIVE EVELYN WOOD(S). She was born in 1853 in Ala?. She married 18 Sept. 1873 in Henry Co. Ala. to William Tillman Ansley and they moved to Montgomery Coounty, Texas, near Willis. She supposedly had relative there-Uncle ? Chumlee or Chumpler A letter of mine hints that her family may have included: Yancy Woods Emma (Emaline) Woods who may have married a Crumpler Mandy or Amanda Woods who may have married a Billy Prescott and maybe a Thelma? Woods Olif or Olive's mother was born in Miss. and her father was born in N. C. according to the 1880 Montgomery County,Texas Census. That is all I know. I cannot find anything else. I have been looking since 1976. I found her marriage in Henry Co. Marriage Records 1871-1928. And in Marriage and Death Notices From Ala. Newspapers and Family Records 1819-1890, pg. 39 The record says "They married at Uncle Billy Holmes home near the Countyline Church, Henry Co. Ala. Okay, you know all I know and have discovered in 23 years. I would love to find a connection with you if we can. William W. Woods and Martha L Clinton supposedly had the following children: Ailsey C. Woods abt 1861 Lou Woods (F) abt 1868 Joseph R. Woods Sept. 1870 Jesse Harrison Woods June 1860 I can cover for Jesse, now having the proof that he is one and the same as my gr-grandfather who married Martha Pickett (although I would dearly love to know his second wife,. Ada's, full name). Can anyone offer info on the other three?
I'm looking for ARSULA Wood, b. 1836-1840, loca unkn. She is my gggrandmother. Family history has it that her husband, Willis Edwin BROOKINS, went from the family home in Dale Co, AL, to Georgia, met and married Arsula. Their first daughter, TERRELL LEOLA was supposedly born in Cairo, GA, 1875. She's said to have been Indian - most say Cherokee, one aunt says Choctaw, and was previously married to a "GREEN" who died in the civil war. She is said to have stared down a regiment of Yankees as they passed her home, during the war, so she must have lived in the mid-GA area, at least, I believe. Her parents are said to be YANCY and MANDIE/MANDY WOOD. With my luck, these are nicknames which were used instead of given names, a common practice in my family, I've found. Arsula had three children: TERRELL LEOLA, FLORENCE MELISSA, b. 1877, and CHARLIE E., b. 1879. None of the names, with the possible exception of the "E" in Charlie's, has any relation to names in Willis Edwin's family. If anyone has anything, I'd be very grateful to hear. Please e-mail me! I would appreciate any information on the following family: William Wood, born about 1793 in York County SC. Married a Mary Magdalena Ruppe (father supposedly a Martin Roop) born about 1800 in Surry County NC. Children (all born in Surry County NC): 1. Thomas Wood, born 1825 2. Henry Wood, born 1827 3. Williamson Wood, born 1829 4. William Wood, born 1831 5. James Wood, born 1837 In 1790, there were three Wood heads of households enumerated in York County SC Census, all in the Camden District: John Wood (p 194) Penuel Wood (p 192) NOTE: Depending upon the source, he is also known as Peter Thomas Wood (p 198) Between 1800 and 1810, these three seem to float around Western SC mostly in Spartanburg County. However by 1820, they appear to have left SC and show up enumerated in the 1820 Surry County NC Census: John Wood (p 676) Peter Wood (p 668) Thomas Wood (p 736) What I would like to determine is exactly which of the three (John, Peter or Penuel, or perhaps Thomas) is the father of the William who married Mary Magdelena. Thanks for any help. Brett F. Woods Santa Fe, New Mexico

Robert WOOD married Elizabeth HURT 18 December 1806 Prince Edward Co., VA. This family may have moved to Rutherford Co., TN by 1830. Does anyone have any information on this family? Ginger
Hello Russell, I am not the "expert" you are looking for, but Susannah Catherine Mecklin/Mckinley (?Macklin) and William Woods of Abbeville, SC are my ggg-grandparents. I made a note (totally undocumented, but probably from ALGenWeb marriage records on line) that a Robert W. Woods was married to Elizabeth ? in Coosa County, AL. I hope this provides a clue and not a wild goose chase. Rel@ively, PatriceG My Line: Michael>Archibald>William>John>Martha Bell Woods m. I have numerous Woods from Rowan Co, NC on my website. All are descendants of Samuel Woods I b. c1710 in Ireland and settled in Rowan Co., NC. There is more than one Woods family in Rowan Co though and they may or may not be related. All my information is from "A Woods Family History" by Elbert Weyman Woods. It is well researched and documented. http://www.my-ged.com/fair
