    1. [WOODS-L] Martha WOODS m. Jackson M. Stiltner
    2. Danny & Faith Blount
    3. Searching for Martha Woods m. to Jackson M. Stiltner. I have a death certificate from Webster County, WV. for a Pricy Arthur on Feb. 25, 1923 (Which is my great-grandmother.) on the record it shows Martha WOODS as mother & Jackson Stiltner as father. I am still searching the census records for them and my great-grandmother and have still turned up nothing at this time. If anyone has any information for me regarding any of these names please let me know. Maybe I can search in another direction. Thanks, Faith blount@netnet.net

    1. [WOODS-L] Archibald and Fanny Woods
    2. Apollo
    3. Ok.. once again I'm on a hot trail. lol.. I bet you guys hate me. I have been given this information but think it's good. The children for Archibald and Frances "Fanny" Hill married 5 June 1806 in Madison Co Ky. were David H. 1826, Elizabeth 1823, John, Nellie, Nancy, and Patsy. The Elizabeth looks VERY good to be my Martha Elizabeth Woods that married James Rolls Barry Co. Mo. 1838. The sister Patsy works into an old family story and James and Martha named their first girl Frances Elizabeth. Is there anyone out there that has a marriage for Elizabeth Woods? Please tell me that you don't.. I want this to be my connection so badly. But.. like all others.. I would like the correct person in my file. Thank you for looking. I know I've been a pain. You all have been so very helpful and if this is indeed the Martha I seek, you have handed me another generation... what more can I say.. you are wonderful!!!!! Rick Roles

    3. Emily, My family came to Johnson Co., IN. I just looked through some of my info, and don't find a Patrick Woods yet. Do you know where your Woods family was before Gibson Co.? What are your dates, etc.? Maybe we can find a connection. This is a very large family. Trish "Emily I. Matthews" wrote: > Trish, > Where did your people come to in IN ? 3. Rick, Sorry, I forgot to mention that the Martha I told you about probably was too young to be your Martha. The marriage info you gave would have put this Martha at about 12 years old. Martha's father Archibald Woods also had a sister Martha, but I don't have a DOB. Since I have at least 2 Martha Woods in this family, I just thought it might be worth looking into since many families repeat given names. 3. After close scrutiny.. I'm forced to broaden my search criteria. I'm now looking for a Woods girl Kentucky born around 1820. 1. [WOODS-L] Archibald Woods
    2. Apollo
    3. Can you imagine my excitement when I ran across this list and found hundreds of messages posted over the last five years about Archibald Woods? I read until nearly blind, but alas, the Archibald I'm looking for is not the Woods that so many of you have researched. Such a shame it is that I can't fit my Archibald into that family from Ireland... such a rich heritage! My name is Rick Roles and a direct descendent of James Roles who married Martha Elizabeth Woods in Barry Co. Mo. in 1838. Her father was Archibald Woods and lists his birth place as Ireland. By census estimations I have Archibald's birth circa 1780. I believe his Wife was Francis, a Kentuckian born, the same age as Archibald. Their daughter Martha Elizabeth was also Kentucky born circa 1820. I'm hoping against hope that someone on this list has some information on this Archibald Woods. I would love to fit into the grand family but would be elated to have information on this Archibald no matter the heritage... after all.. he's family. :) Thank you very much for helping a frustrated genealogist. rick roles

    3. Hi there, Good to see you back on line, Dorothy. What names are you researching and in what part of the country? Maybe someone can help you on your quest. Ancestry.com is free up until Dec. 21 and certainly worth a try. Does anyone have any information concerning my g grandfathers middle name, CORSAN? His full name, Henry Corsan Woods. A curious name... I need to know how to find out where both g grandparents are buried. I sent for their death certificates in MO. but because I don't know the exact date's, they sent my money back and said to try again. I tried NE. where they lived and homesteaded and no luck there either. 20 below here in the middle of Montana, hope it's warm where ever you are, Bonnie

    2. Mary Wood
    3. DON'T MESS WITH GRANNY An elderly woman had just returned to her home from an evening of religious service when she was startled by an intruder. As she caught the man in the act of robbing her home of its valuables, she yelled, "Stop - Acts 2:38!" (..turn from your sin...). The burglar stopped dead in his tracks. The woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, "Why did you just stand there? All she did was yell a scripture to you." "Scripture?" replied the burglar, "She said she had an AXE and two 38's".
