The Woodmansee Genealogy shows William Henry Woodmansee, b. 1843, d.1914. He was apparently (twice) a deserter, once in Michigan and once in KY. He married 15 year old Zelma Naylor 9 days after his KY desertion. He later (1874) m. Nancy Fields and had 10 kids. The Genealogy only has the children of one child listed. Harvey Berkley Wdse had 8 children of his own. It would seem odd that older children might change their name as well as the father (Perry was b. in 1881 and was probably in his 20s when the name was changed). Was it actually Perry who changed his name? The 1910 Census shows a William Johnson with wife Nancy (14 when married) and children John, Joseph, Minnie and Harvey. It fits. Perry Johnson and wife, Lola, were also living in Dieterich, KY in the 1910 Census. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
