She was born and raised in Euclid, Ohio where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Robert William Rose (now deceased). Upon retirement, they moved to Lake Milton, Ohio where they maintained a vacation home for years. In addition, they wintered in Ft. Myers, Fla. Gloria received her degree in Education from Hillsdale College. She was a kindergarten teacher for almost 30 years, sharing with countless children her knowledge and love of learning. She was a Martha Holden Jennings scholar. Gloria's friends knew her as a tireless and gracious hostess. She enjoyed Elderhostels with her husband, her lakeside homes, cooking, reading, and most of all, her family. Her deceased parents were Clyde and Elizabeth Woodmansee. Her survivors include her children, Robert (Helene) of Chardon, Ohio; Susan (George) Cain of North Jackson, Ohio and John (Judy) of Fort Thomas, Ky.; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tom) Martin, Laura (Gaurav Saxena) Rose, Megan (Frank) Sovick, Sarah (Shaun) Thorn, Daniel, Margaret, Elizabeth and Kathryn; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Emily, Kushal, William Spencer and Anthony. Gloria Rose enriched the lives of all who knew her. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial offered at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Catherine Parish Community, 1254 Grandview Road, Lake Milton, OH, 44429, where visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
