Author: dei8_3 Surnames: woodmansee, johnson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.woodmansee/236/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hi i am looking for info on my gr grandparents william johnson who was married to nancy fields.they lived in ky but william was born in michigan. i am a bit confused due to the fact that when i was checking birth records to get the right dates of birth for aunts and uncle i came across that there mother used to names for her maiden name one was johnson and the other was woodmansee since then i have found them in the census' as both in 1900 they were listed as woodmansees and in the 1910 they were listed as johnson if anyone out there can shed some light i would really appreciate it the names of their children are william born 1878 perry born 1881 john born 1883 martha born 1891 joseph born 1894 harvey born 1895 and my grandmother minnie born 1898 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.     3. Hi In some cases the kidlings in the house were listed with the "head of household name". Such as my grandfather married a widow women who had 2 children by her first husband and on the 1920 census the 2 kidlings were listed with my grandfather's name but after he passed away the kidlings were listed with their father's name on the 1930 census. Also I have noticed that women with small children and no husband in the house are listed as widows rather then divorcees although the errant husband was still very much alive.
