    1. [Woodmansee] Re: Woodmansee Brothers.Forked River N.J.
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Woodmansee Worden Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GQXBAIB/87.1 Message Board Post: David Woodmansee (1719-1799) married on 21 Dec 1744 in Dover, NJ, Penelope Warden (b. 27 Mar 1728/9 (Arnold's RI recs), d. 2 Apr 1805). They are buried in Good Luck Cemetery in Lanoka Harbor. Penelope's parents are Samuel Worden and Abigail Mott. No birth records for either are listed in Arnold; he was from Kingston, she from Block Island, RI and they married in Kingston 22 Jan 1722/3. Their children Phebe, Benjamin and Penelope are recorded at S. Kingston, but no others are. Since Phebe and Penelope both married in Monmouth Co, NJ, it is thought Samuel and Abigail relocated there after about 1740. I do not know anything about Hannah Worden, wife of James, except that she was born 18 Jan 1737 and died 16 Apr 1824 in Butler Co, OH and that she is usually listed as the daughter of Samuel, but that could be based on the assumption that sisters married brothers. Original message from Albert Worden: >Looking for information on the wives of James Woodmansee >(Hannah), Gabriel Woodmansee (Silence) and David >Woodmansee (Penelope) all from Forked River N.J.wives maiden >name was Worden.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GQXBAIB/121 Message Board Post: I have only recently started researching the Woodmansee branch of my family, and what I have found so far indicates that I am descended from Gabriel through his son Joseph and Joseph's daughter Hannah. I have been reading with interest the comments about Robert Woodmansee. I have found some information that I thought I would share from the Cambridge University Alumni Database at Ancesty.com. It does not clear up the question of whether or not Robert is the father of Gabriel, but it does provide some information about Robert, his occupation, and residences. Also wondering if the book is out yet?
