My DNA seem to bear this out. My DNA results show many Spanish persons. My father always said he was Black Irish. There are a substantial Irish markers as well as Scots. (Northern Ireland is predominately Protestant Scots/Irish). Also Moors from North Africa ruled Spain for hundreds of years. That is like where the darker skin came in. My Woodall''s married Moores. There was also a strong N/A component as well. Blessings. This description fits the descendants of the Irish who lived in Ireland at the time of Spanish dominance of the seafaring world-mid 14th-16th centuries.
