    1. Re: [WOODALL] DNA - Woodall Males Needed
    2. Hi, Well, I guess we should be hopeful about finding our Woodall/Woodell lines, keep our fingers crossed about it, anyway--if it hadn't been for DNA testing I'd never have found out my 1761-born John Woodell was descended from that Goochland, Va family. But finding someone who qualifies to be tested for James B. Woodall or William Woodall (the "real" son of so-called DNA John Woodall) will be hard. I'm hoping this person who just wrote about the GA Woodalls may match my line but then they apparently don't know if they descend from James B. or not anyway. You know, not long ago a man wrote me--I can't remember now how we got in touch but I guess I must have seen his letter first and written him--and his line (or his wife's--apparently both of them descend from Woodalls) was from a Morgan Woodall who was a preacher and lived in GA back in the early 1800s. Apparently some of his descendants weren't biological Woodalls so wouldn't qualify to DNA test, unfortunately. But then he told me something else we don't like to think about--he said there was INCEST in Morgan Woodall's line. I guess Morgan, even though he was a preacher, had children by at least one of his daughters! I guess this guy who wrote me was saying that there may have been more incest among the Woodalls, too.. You know, I don't like to think about the possibility of such a thing but then my great-grandfather Woodell's youngest son turned out to be retarded and one of my great-aunts on that side had a profoundly retarded daughter. The person who wrote me about Morgan Woodall's line told me something like that occurred in his family, too, so could it be from incest? This is supposed to be James B. Woodall's line, too, so now I'm wondering more if my 1761 John Woodall's line descends from this same one;however my line could instead descend from William Woodall, the "real" William (son of so-called DNA John)--who moved to Granville County, NC. Betty PS. PLEASE don't think that I am in any way implying that any of this may have happened in Elarkins' line, just mine, and of course there's no way to prove that there was any incest in the family way back then, anyway.
