Paula these names are also connected to the Barnes surname. Jones and Wilson seem to be more connected to the Benjamin Barnes line who came with his brother Jordan to Alabama in 1800 and settled mostly in Southern Alabama between Montgomery and Birmingham. Jordan Barnes, my ancestor married into Moore/Woodall who were married in Springdale, St Clair County in 1837-38. There are still Woodall descendant living in Springdale. There are Jones married into my Jordan Barnes line(I have no information other than the name) and Jones that show up as DNA kin as well but no specific locations. My Mariah Woodall who married Archibald Moore in Springdale came from Ga. and had relatives in Georgia. Wondering if anyone knows of any connection between the Woodall and the Jones surnames during the 1800's in GA & AL? Seems like I see a lot of Jones families on different GA & AL census records while I'm looking for my Wilson and Woodall families. Also have seen a lot of King surnames in some of these records. Just wondering.
