    3. I would love to checkout the Woodall information researched by Steve Woodall and Verna Perier that might be posted online. Web site info would be much appreciated. My Woodall connection is through Zephaniah and Lavenia Vest Woodall via marriage of their Granddaughter Sarah Jane Nesmith to Abraham/Abram "ABE" Wilson. Sarah Jane Nesmith was daughter of Sarah M. Woodall and Robert Martin Nesmith Sarah M. Woodall Nesmith was d/o Zephaniah & "Vinnie" Woodall. I am unable to locate any information on Abram Wilson before 1870 Morgan Co, AL census. He was supposedly born in GA and I know the Woodalls were in GA before moving to AL in early 1800's. SURNAMES ASSOCIATED BY MARRIAGES (OR OTHER WAYS) WITH THE WILSON-WOODALL-VEST FAMILIES: WILSON, WILLSON, NESMITH, WOODALL, VEST, HARDY, BRASHEAR, BREEDLOVE, CANADY, CROW, HARDY, KENNEDY, LOCK, LONG, MARTIN, MEANS, MOSS, ROBERTS, ROGERS, WRIGHT, WYNN, YARBROUGH Paula Wilson Dunklin Jeff Woodall <wjcjets@msn.com> wrote: " We as researchers of Woodall's who were originally from Virginia for many years (speaking for others such as Verna Perier, Ruth Mason, Steve Woodall & Andy Marshall) believe it is most likely that he probably was born in either MD, VA, or ENG but then there is no document to be found in any courthouse, library, bible record etc. to support this theory."

    3. Glenda, What are your sources on your Woodall research? We have spent some time looking at your website. We personally researched in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, looking at many records including microfilm, microfiche and old books. The marriage record you referred to of a John Woodall and Sarah Stanley/Staulie actually occurred in 1603 at St Peter Cornhill in London, England. The marriage was of Barber Surgeon John Woodall and his wife Sarah. An extraction on this original record can be found on this website: http://www.familysearch.org<http://www.familysearch.org/> This primary and secondary record from St. Peter Cornhill's Parish which we personally viewed gave other details such as John's occupation, etc. The John Woodall who was born approximately 1678 give or take somewheres around 10 yrs. birth date based only on known sons ages John & William born circa 1710 who were mentioned in his 1750 WILL. His wife's name has never been found on any document. Her name is still unknown to this day. There is no sort of documentation of the identity of the father of John Woodall born approximately 1678. It is true that we do not even know where John who left his 1750 WILL was born. We as researchers of Woodall's who were originally from Virginia for many years (speaking for others such as Verna Perier, Ruth Mason, Steve Woodall & Andy Marshall) believe it is most likely that he probably was born in either MD, VA, or ENG but then there is no document to be found in any courthouse, library, bible record etc. to support this theory. The William Woodall born abt 1709 did not serve in the Revolutionary War. His 1st wife's name is unknown. No proof of her name being Mary Woodson or Mary Smith, Mary Jones or anything like it. Her name is unknown. There is no known connection between the descendants of Barber Surgeon John Woodall and any Woodall families today. Barber Surgeon's line may have died out. On the Woodall DNA Project website to this date there are 14 different DNA results. Remember Wood(h)all was a place name, which would explain most different DNA results. Also on the Woodall DNA project website DNA results will show that there were at least 2 William's in VA at the same time and there are two different Woodall Families who attended the St. James Parish In Goochland County. Read the information posted on the website which explains this If you are not familiar with this website, here is the link: http://home.cfl.rr.com/woodalldna/Test%20Results.htm<http://home.cfl.rr.com/woodalldna/Test%20Results.htm> We appreciate your enthusiasm. Please correct the errors we have referenced on your website. Regards, Jeff and Cheryl Woodall

    3. My DNA seem to bear this out. My DNA results show many Spanish persons. My father always said he was Black Irish. There are a substantial Irish markers as well as Scots. (Northern Ireland is predominately Protestant Scots/Irish). Also Moors from North Africa ruled Spain for hundreds of years. That is like where the darker skin came in. My Woodall''s married Moores. There was also a strong N/A component as well. Blessings. 3. I believe we maybe kin. My Gr-gr Grandfather Archibald Moore married Mariah Woodall in 1837 in St Clair County to the east of Morgan county. Their daughter Artemissa Moore married my grand father Jordan Barnes, they moved to Cullman County, just South o Morgan. William was a key name in her brothers, and her cousins. Likely she had an uncle named William as Mariah had brothers and they settled in the area. My father always said they we Black Irish. This was often a euphemism for Indian / Irish. My Woodalls and Moore's where part Indian. One Ellen Moore and a Moore Husband signed the Echotaw treaty moving many Indians west. I believe this would give a good start in finding William. There are a number of Woodall Graves one, if my memory serve me, there is a William Woodall grave in Blount County. I may even have a photo.
